HP PCL BAR CODE LABEL
PRINTING IN AN SAP R/3 ENVIRONMENT
Printing bar code labels with the Hewlett Packard Printer Control Language (HP PCL) in an SAP R/3 system is achieved with a Standard Series IntelliBar bar code label printer using an IntelliBar SAP HP PCL Device Type.
Hewlett Packard LaserJet III (LJIII) printers use HP PCL level 5. Standard Series IntelliBar bar code label printers also use HP PCL 5. Thus, an IntelliBar printer appears as an LJIII printer to a host computer system.
LJIII printers operate in the SAP environment by using the standard SAP HPLJIIID Device Type. Customized IntelliBar HP PCL "Z" Device Types were developed in order to access the resident bar code fonts and extended label related features of IntelliBar printers.
